Hybrid system helps to minimize downtime
With more than 2,000 systems now in use in markets around the world and with continuing product developments, the HÜBNER Double Ramp is setting new standards for safety and for ease of use in bus access. If the system’s powered ramp is out of service, bus personnel have the manual folding ramp to deploy as a back-up, allowing the vehicle to remain in operation without interruption – and keeping downtime to a minimum.
The the further development Comfort Double Ramp also stands out for its fast and simple installation as well as its service-friendly maintenance concept. Thanks to a specially developed “comfort hatch”, access to all of the most important components is possible with just a few simple steps.
From concept to success story
What started as an early concept around five years ago, has now evolved into a worldwide success story of high customer demand and rising sales. Following successful projects in Madrid and Oslo where a total of more than 580 ramps were delivered, HÜBNER received orders from China for more than 501 ramps in 2024.
Now in 2025, a new high point has been reached, reports Florian Klotz, head of the business unit Ramps & Lift Systems at HÜBNER: “For the first time in a single year, we have produced a total of 1,085 Double Ramps. With a variety of Double Ramp models, we are delivering a special product that provides greater accessibility in public transport and enhanced service friendliness for transit companies and vehicle manufacturers.”
Next Double Ramp generation already in development
Several hundred orders for 2026 have already been received. “We are very pleased with the substantial success of the Double Ramp and the high level of interest in the new developed Comfort Double Ramp. And this success is a strong motivation for further developments in this area,” says Florian Klotz. “The HÜBNER Group is working intensively on new products and components that will further improve accessibility in public transport.”
