The SQC system:
Clamping, not gluing
Damage caused by vandalism is a growing problem. Scratched window panes, broken glass or graffiti degrade the interior and exterior appearance of many vehicles. To facilitate a fast reaction and repair of such damages, HÜBNER offers quick-change window systems to its customers.
The special feature is this: The window panes are not glued into place as with traditional systems but rather clamped into position. This is made possible through the use of a special surrounding frame made of rubber. The window pane is placed into this frame and permanently fixed with a clamping profile in just a few minutes.
When replacing glued window panes by contrast, the defective pane must be cut out of the glue with considerable effort, the old glue has to be removed and then the new pane needs to be glued into place in accordance with DIN 6701-2.
Enhanced profitability
Vehicle downtime in the workshop to replace windows causes annual losses running into millions. These losses result from the very time-intensive replacement of glue-based window systems. Quick-change window systems by contrast shorten such downtimes substantially.
After receiving the appropriate training, an individual maintenance worker can perform the replacement alone, and it is possible to do this entirely from the outside of the vehicle. That means without any disassembly of interior fittings. Less than 20 minutes is required for the whole process. This reduces maintenance costs and increases availability, thus increasing vehicle profitability.
