“1.6 meters of the bus”

Plug & Play: Completely ready to install - HÜBNER systems have been connecting the passenger areas of articulated buses for decades. With all these years of experience and more than 100,000 articulation systems in the market, we continue to develop our “1.6 meters of the bus”. Clearly defined connection surfaces ensure that all requirements are met in both low-floor and high-floor areas.

The complete “1.6 meters of the bus” includes:

  • An articulation system that can be adjusted to any vehicle type
  • An electronic articulation control unit that provides maximum safety
  • A power connection system that can be safely and flexibly stowed in floor, side or ceiling areas
  • Folding bellows that can be delivered in a wide range of colors, forms and designs according to customer wishes
  • Floor and ceiling coverings for more comfort through thermal and acoustic insulation

Ecoflex: Folding bellows material

The multifunctional innovation

As the latest innovation from our Material Development area, we are presenting Ecoflex – a folding bellows fabric that sets new standards in fire safety, sustainability and insulation.

Ecoflex helps to provide greater safety and sustainability in public transport. In combination with our new inner bellows, the thermal and acoustic insulation properties are also noteworthy – simultaneously optimizing noise levels and energy consumption. Ecoflex production takes place 100 percent in-house in the strong company network of the HÜBNER Group – from formulation to final production.

Special features:

  • Excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties
  • Better CO2 footprint than conventional fabric blends
  • Design flexibility with a larger range of colors
  • Extremely low fire load

Holographic applications for windows and doors

Smart solutions for the passenger experience: Transparent holographic displays provide passengers with real-time information — such as arrival and departure times — right in their field of vision when looking out the window or through the vehicle doors. HÜBNER is developing these innovative applications in cooperation with Zeiss Microoptics. Shopping opportunities or tourist attractions can also be displayed in the windows of buses or trains, providing improved passenger information in a futuristic style.

Holographic technology delivers significant advantages in comparison with traditional solutions such as OLED systems, requiring less energy and space – and all of this with high image resolution.

In addition, we are also presenting another passenger-focused holographic application at Busworld 2025 that has been developed in cooperation with Zeiss Microoptics. The Holo-Button is an innovative system for touchless opening of doors in buses and trains. The new system provides excellent functionality in an attractive, futuristic design. Experience the future of public transport through holographic innovation – with HÜBNER and ZEISS!
