Founded on May 1, 1946 in Kassel, Germany, the family-owned company has grown into a global supplier of industrial components and systems, employing approximately 3,500 people at more than 25 locations across four continents.
From pragmatism and new beginnings to innovation rooted in tradition
In the aftermath of the Second World War, everyday items such as rubber boots were in desperately short supply in war-torn Kassel. Factories and workshops lay idle. This is the starting point of the HÜBNER company, set up in the basement of a residential building – with the repair of rubber boots. and founded officially on May 1, 1946, by Kurt Hübner and his father-in-law, Georg Schellhas.

Eighty years later, the small family business has grown into an internationally active corporate group. The international expansion, which began in 1979 with the first location outside Germany in Brazil, has developed into a global network featuring production, sales, and service across all continents.
At more than 25 locations in 16 countries, we develop and manufacture systems and solutions for mobility, manufacturing, life sciences, and research. Our diverse portfolio ranges from proven series products to highly sophisticated custom solutions – and is designed to reliably meet the needs of our customers today and in the future.
