Front-end gangways
for rail vehicles

Front-end gangways from HÜBNER are compact, weight-optimized systems to provide safe and secure connections between trains during periods of peak operation. They offer a comfortable, protected passageway solution between the front ends of coupled vehicles – with stable weather protection, secure connections and integrated protective mechanisms. 

In rail operations, trains are frequently extended during high-demand periods by coupling additional train units. To facilitate this, the front-end gangway system consists of two gangway halves mounted on the front end of a vehicle. When the train unit is coupled with another, elastomer springs press the sliding plates of the two halves together, creating a stable and tight inter-car connection. 

The system’s folding or corrugated bellows delivers optimal weather protection, while the slip-resistant gangway bridge plate provides safe and convenient passage for passengers and crew. When the front-end gangway is not in use, integrated folding doors keep out dirt and debris and protect the vehicle interior.
