Together with this global management function, Mentel will be directly in charge of the Gangway Systems division. Until now, the 35-year-old manager has been responsible for HÜBNER's After Sales & Service division. Mentel will report directly to HÜBNER Mobility General Manager Helge Förster.
In his new position, Kai Mentel will be responsible in particular for the sustainable and profitable growth of the Rail business segment with a focus on gangway systems, as well as for continuing and strengthening the expansion of its global business activities. With a degree in business administration, Mentel will be succeeding Huschke Diekmann, who left the company in May.
Mentel has been with HÜBNER since 2005 and in this time has occupied various positions, including responsibility for the global coordination of sales activities in the rail sector. Starting in 2018, he took charge of developing the After Sales & Service division, which has made a major contribution to the overall success of the Rail business segment in recent years.
"Kai Mentel is very familiar with the HÜBNER Group and has extensive specialist and industry knowledge. I look forward to continuing our good cooperation and wish him every success in his new position," says General Manager Helge Förster.
