HÜBNER Fairing
Enhanced aerodynamics and protection in the gangway area
Reduced aerodynamic drag, greater efficiency: The patented HÜBNER Fairing System with its rectangular bellows configuration optimizes the aerodynamics – particularly at high speeds. With that, the gangway system integrates seamlesslyinto the overall train contour, eliminating air turbulence. The result: Energy savings of up to 4%.
- Aerodynamics & energy efficiency
The nearly flush surfaces consistently minimize aerodynamic drag – for a direct reduction in operating costs. - Thermal efficiency
The enclosed design improves thermal management in the gangway area and reduces energy losses. - Mechanical protection
Components, such as cables, lines and end walls, are safely enclosed between the cars. - Passenger safety at the platform
More safety for passengers: Fairings close off the gap between the train and the platform. - Sound insulation & passenger comfort
Enclosed bellows and wind-deflection systems significantly reduce interior noise levels.

HÜBNER EcoTex
Recycled material for gangway bellows
Sustainability – starting with the fabric. HÜBNER EcoTex is the innovative new and high-performance fabric alternative for gangway systems: The material is made from fully recycled nylon sourced from fishing nets together with sustainable cellulose- and viscose-based raw materials.
- Significantly lower CO2
The manufacturing process of EcoTex reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 45 percent – completely solvent-free. - Circular economy in action
EcoTex contributes to more sustainable production by recycling nylon from fishing nets and giving the material a second life. - High performance standards
No compromises in robustness, durability or safety: EcoTex meets all the technical and functional requirements of rail operations.

Tailored Solutions for Trams & LRV
Versatile Articulation Portfolio
The HÜBNER Group offers a comprehensive portfolio of upper and lower articulation systems for trams and light rail vehicles. The articulation systems can be individually adapted to vehicle designs and customer specifications, with customized systems also available on request.
The lower articulation systems in the FXpro series offer a long service life of up to 16 years, low lifecycle costs and optimized product weight and height – with multiple versions available for different load requirements. The modern eco-design concept allows up to 98 % of all metal parts to be reused.
The FXcore radial spherical bearing is also available as a stand-alone product solution – making the benefits of the FXpro series available for all established vehicle concepts.
Upper articulation systems are developed and manufactured by HEMSCHEIDT Rail. Yaw, pitch, yaw-roll and yaw-roll-pitch articulation systems connect vehicle segments securely and flexibly – even on tight curves, under frequent acceleration and with varying loads.

HOLO IQ
Transparent holographic displays for window systems
Passenger information at a glance: Together with ZEISS Microoptics, HÜBNER is launching holographic display technology in window systems for trains and buses on the market. With HOLO IQ, information on arrival times, tourist attractions and route information can be projected directly onto vehicle windowpanes.
Key advantages compared with conventional solutions such as OLED systems: The technology is more space-efficient, more energy-efficient and more robust – while delivering brilliant image quality and over 90% transparency. And it is highly flexible: HOLO IQ displays can be seamlessly integrated into new window systems e.g. manufactured by Kunststofftechnik Hennigsdorf (KTH), a HÜBNER Group company. And it can also be retrofitted into existing window systems.
HÜBNER is currently testing HOLO IQ under real operating conditions. Test applications are currently underway with leading transport operators in several European countries.
HÜBNER and ZEISS are playing a pioneering role in shaping public transport applications of the future – with a special recognition at the CNA Innovation Award 2026.

HEFES
The fully integrated front-end module from HEMSCHEIDT RAIL
Front-end shell, kinematics, energy absorption and sensor technology – all combined in one ready-to-install module: HEFES is the fully integrated front-end system module for trams, street cars and light rail vehicles that brings together protection and design in a unified concept.
Manufactured from glass fiber-reinforced plastic (GRP) or polyurethane, it meets the highest safety requirements – including fire protection in accordance with EN 45545-2 R17 HL3. HEFES can be equipped with energy absorption elements for impact protection. In addition to reversible elements such as dampers, irreversible energy absorption elements are also available for crash events.
The modular plug-and-play design with clearly defined interfaces makes the system suitable for new vehicles, but also for the retrofitting and modernization of existing fleets.
Developed by HEMSCHEIDT Rail as part of the HÜBNER Group, HEFES front-end modules incorporates 30 years of experience in bumper systems as well as proven expertise in front-end shell design, damping and system integration – with an integrated supply chain and comprehensive support throughout the entire product life cycle.

GRP-Expertise from a single source
Glass fiber-reinforced plastic (GRP) solutions
A strong and expert partner for glass fiber-reinforced plastic (GRP) solutions – from the initial design concept to painting, assembly, final finishing and customer-focused service throughout the entire product life cycle. OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers benefit from accessing the entire GRP value chain from a single source, with comprehensive in-house expertise and a high degree of flexibility for customized components.
Gummi-Welz Poland (GWP) is the HÜBNER Group’s referenced specialist for GRP solutions, offering extensive technological capabilities and the certifications required for the OEM market:
