80 years of company success – also thanks to apprenticeship training
“HÜBNER’s 80 years in business is a success story that has also been made possible through the interaction between younger and older generations, with apprenticeship training firmly established as part of our corporate culture,” says HÜBNER General Manager Claus Schäfer.“We are pleased to again be welcoming twelve young people to the company as they begin their careers and to be opening up promising professional opportunities for them.”
The new apprentices include two industrial business specialists, two mechatronics technicians, two industrial mechanics and two machine and plant operators. They are joined by four Fachoberschule (FOS) interns working in technical and commercial areas.
50 Juniors – training reflects company requirements
Currently, approximately 50 apprentices, dual-study participants and one-year FOS interns are employed at HÜBNER headquarters in Kassel. The four professions in which apprentices are being trained this year reflect the needs of the Kassel location.
All new recruits are starting their training with an introductory workshop, which has been completely redesigned this year. HÜBNER’s new introductory concept places an even stronger focus on helping participants settle into the company on a personal level.
Feeling welcome from day one
“For us, the start of every apprenticeship is a special moment: Young people are beginning a new chapter in their lives at HÜBNER – and we have the privilege of helping them along the way,” says Kim Hagemann, HR Specialist Corporate Learning and coordinator of apprenticeship training at HÜBNER. “It’s important to us that they feel welcome right from the start, can develop trust in the new situation, and experience the wide range of opportunities that are available to them here. For us, apprenticeship training involves more than just teaching professional skills. It’s also about supporting young talent in their development and opening up perspectives for the future.”
New this year is an expanded program designed to help the participants get to know each other and learn how to work together effectively. Starting from the first day, the focus is on team exercises, exchanging ideas about shared values, and developing an understanding of different personalities. The program also emphasizes how different generations interact in the workplace and how collaboration can function successfully across age groups.
HÜBNER rally through the Kassel plants
The program will also include a HÜBNER rally, which has the new recruits get to know the different plants at the Kassel location as well as many of the colleagues working there. Throughout the first introductory week, the new recruits are also supported by apprentice mentors who will share practical tips for everyday working life and help with getting started in the HÜBNER world. The new apprentices and interns will also be welcomed by Managing Director Claus Schäfer, the Works Council and the Youth and Apprentice Council.
